Abstract

Islam is a mercy for the universe. But in reality, many people don’t want to make Islam the compas of life. This makes them be oppressor. The scholars, especially Wahbah al-Zuhaili have warned in one of his book, namely Tafsir al-Wasith not do oppression. Therefore, this research aims to describe the narration of the term oppression in Tafsir al-Wasith; in the form of the definition of oppression, the history of oppression, various kinds of oppression, triggering factor for doing of oppression, and punishment for oppressor. The method used in this research is thematic method. The results of this research is to explain that the meaning of oppression is attitudes and actions that goes beyond  the corridor. Oppression acts in history began with the prophet Adam. There are three kinds of oppression; namaely oppression to Allah, oppression to one’s own person, and oppression to other people. There are three triggering factors for doing oppression; namely fear of the creatures more than fear of the Creator, weak faith in the Day of Judgment, and raises doubt about the justice of Allah. Oppressor will be punished for his oppression; both the punishment of this world and the punishment of the hereafter.

Abstract

Islam does not forbid its adherents to enjoy the life of the world. They are allowed and given the freedom to enjoy all the sustenance that Allah has given them. However, the behavior in expressing pleasure should not cross the predetermined line, such as excessive, extravagant and wasteful. But, the reality of the living habits of Indonesian Muslims shows that there are still many who commit wasteful acts, especially in the matter of food. Food that is not spent becomes wasted and wasted, resulting in a very large amount of waste, even up to hundreds of trillions of rupiah per year.Based on the reality of the wasteful behavior of Indonesian Muslims, the author is interested in researching this issue by describing Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's reading of wasteful terms in the book of al-Tafsir al-Munir. This research includes the description of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili regarding the meaning of the word wasteful, the causes of wasteful attitudes, threats to wasteful perpetrators, and solutions to eliminate wasteful attitudes. Thematic method is the choice in completing this research. The results of this research explain that the meaning of redundant is to manage and spend wealth or money not in the right place and not wise in its use. The cause of the emergence of wasteful behavior is not caring about religious teachings and following their lusts. The threat to the wasteful perpetrator is that he will become a brother of Satan and become a disbelief in Allah. The solution to eliminating wasteful nature is to be moderate in the use of wealth, not to distribute wealth in immoral cases, and to distribute wealth to people in need.

Abstract

In an scientific context, thera are pros and cons in an issue that is normal. This reality also occurs in the study of the Qur’an. Among the modernist figures who propose a method in studying the Qur’an is Abed al-Jabri. He offered the idea of reconstructing the arrangement of the Qur’an. According to him, the arrangement of the Qur’an in the osman manuscirpts must be reviewed. This idea was refuted by Muhammad Imarah. He wrote a book, specifically to demolish Abed al-Jabri’s heretical ideas.The book is entitled “Radd Iftiraat al-Jabiri ‘Ala al-Qur’an al-Karim”.Therefore, this research aims to describe the Muhammad Imarah’s arguments againts the concept of Abed al-Jabri. The discussion includes the description of the figures of Abed al-Jabri and Muhammad Imarah, the secretaries of the Prophet Mohmmed, history of compiling the Qur’an, Muhammad Imarah’s rebuttal to the concept arrangement the Qur’an in the style of Abed al-Jabri. The method used in this research is analysis method. The results of this research is to explain that Abed al-Jabri and Muhammad Imarah are modern figures. Al-Jabri from Marocco and Muhammad Imarah from Egypt. Prophet Mohammed had many secretaries and they are divided in to groups. The format of the arrangement of the Qur’an is based on the instructions of the Prophet Mohammed. Al-Jabri’s arguments that became the basis of the idea of reconstruction the arrangement of verses and surah; 1) the Qur’an is very open for reformulation of the arrangement of verses and surahs. 2) The purpose of the idea of reconstructing the arrangement of the Qur’an is so that objectivity can be maintained. 3) All verses of the Qur’an have a sabab nuzul. Muhammad Imarah’s rebuttal; 1) Why switch from the divine God’s tartib, the arrangement that has existed since Lauh al-Mahfuzh and Gabriel taught the Prophet. 2) Qur’an is not a history book. 3) Al-Jabri’s claim is has no solid basis, because he was completely unable to name the salaf scholars who argued that all verses had a sabab nuzul.

Abstract

Lately, cases of interfaith marriage have occured in many communities and it has caused a stir. Whats else is marriage between muslimah and non muslim men, this case caused controversy among muslims community. Among the commentators who were concerned about this problem were Rasyid Ridha and al-Maraghi. Therefore, this study will discuss their interpretation of the verses of marriage between muslimah and musyrik men and ahli kitab men. This study uses a comparative method. The results showed that the problem of marriage between muslimah and musyrik men, Rasyid Ridha only based on the surah al-Baqarah verse 221 in the establishing the law. While al-Maraghi strengthened it with surah al-Mumtahanah verse 10. In terms of methodolgy, they both adhere to the itthlaq al-lafzhi approach. Then the problem of marriage between mulimah and ahli kitab men, Rasyid Ridha was less strict in expressing his interpretation of the prohibition. While al-Maraghi is more assertive and cleare. In the terms of methodology, the adhere to the mafhum al-mukhalafah approach. Their interpretation of the marriage between muslimah and musyrik men and ahli kitab men is still relevant today.
